Brunei DCO off to SEA Games

In ensuring that athletes at the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Hanoi, Vietnam comply with the anti-doping rules and compete cleanly, the organisers of the Games have partnered with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), Vietnam Anti-Doping Agency (VADA), and International Testing Agency (ITA) in preparing the International Doping Control Officer (IDCO) to implement the Doping Control Procedure.

A DCO from the Brunei Darussalam Anti-Doping Committee (BDADC) Hetty Hartini binti Talip was selected as an IDCO at the 31st SEA Games.

Before qualifying to be an IDCO in Hanoi, she underwent training as well as tests to confirm her place in the sporting event.

She previously worked as an IDCO at the 2017 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as well as a DCO for sports tournaments in Brunei Darussalam, out-of-competition test for athletes who compete in regional and international tournaments.

Permanent Secretary (Administration, Finance and Estate) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, who is the Chairman of BDADC under the MCYS, Senior Education Officer at the Ministry of Education and the Deputy Chairman of BDADC Sukardi bin Kaderi and BDADC executive members were present to bid farewell to Hetty Hartini at Brunei International Airport.

BDADC is under the auspices of WADA in planning and implementing the Anti-Doping Programme in the SUltanate in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code (WADC).

Previously, BDADC members also served at the Olympic Games, Asian Games, and ASEAN University Sports Championships in addition to attending meetings, courses, workshops and seminars organised by WADA, Regional Anti-Doping Organization (RADO) and National Anti-Doping Organization (NADO).
