The Olympic Day Run have reached a maximum of 2000 participants.

A press conference by the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council (BDNOC) revealed this yesterday at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.

"We could only accommodate 2000 participants because there was only a limited number of the 30th BDNOC anniversary tumbler, and we wanted all participants to receive one," said BDNOC Vice President Colonel (Rtd) Pg Hj Kamal Bashah Pg Hj Ahmad.

The five-kilometre route for the run was also officially released yesterday.

The run is set to be flagged off at 7:15am on June 22 so participants are required to gather at 6:45am at the Pedestrian Mall Indoor Stadium at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas for a warm up session.

"The purpose of the Olympic Day Run is to encourage the public to not just run, but be disciplined as well with their running," said the vice-president during the press conference.

"Running is fun, but it is a whole lot more entertaining if the run is done efficiently and diligently," he said.

Participants will receive an official Olympic Day Run shirt, a 30th anniversary BDNOC tumbler, an Olympic Day Run certificate of participation and a lucky draw coupon, which will be held during after the race.

The collection place and time for the t-shirt and tumbler will be at the administration office, Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium, from 9.15am to 11.30am and 2.15pm to 5pm today.

They can be collected from 9.15am to 5pm tomorrow.

BDNOC advised participants to bring along their receipts or identity cards to obtain their items for race day.
