Interested runners have two extra days to register for the upcoming Olympic Day 5K Run on June 22.
Organised by the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council (BDNOC) in collaboration with the Department of Youth and Sports, the closing date was initially today but is extended to Thursday.
The event, which will be held in conjunction with the BDNOC's 30th anniversary, will begin and end at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas. A warm up session will be conducted before the run at 7am.
The event is open to everyone of all age groups and is aimed at promoting the participation of sports by men, women and children regardless of athletic ability. The event is limited to 2,000 participants only and will be on a first come first serve basis.
Registration fee is set at $15 per person and each participant will be given a t-shirt and tumbler as well as entry to a lucky draw.
Entry forms can be obtained from the competition venue during office hours (8am - 12pm and 2pm - 4.30pm) and AEWON Garment and Embroidery Showroom at Airport Mall and Kiarong branch during office hours.
It can also be downloaded by logging onto www.bruneiolympic.org. The Olympic Day is an annual event celebrated worldwide to commemorate the birth of the modern Olympics on June 23, 1894 in Athens.
