Olympic Day is an annual event celebrated worldwide to commemorate the birth of modern Olympics on June 23, 1984 in Athens, Greece. Last year's event saw a turnout of around 1,400 people in Temburong's first ever celebration of Olympic Day.

Sports acitvities - five-a-side football, kids athletics, hockey, bocce, tug-of-war, sepak takraw, futsal, netball, basketball and other traditional games - were contested at the Temburong Sports Complex. His Royal Highness Prince Hj Sufri Bolkiah, the president of the BDNOC, was in attendance and competed in the VIP category of the five-a-side football competition.

BDNOC is also set to celebrate the upcoming Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, with a Fun Run in the capital on Sunday.

As part of the campaign to promote the Asian Games, several National Olympic Councils from Asian nations have already carried out activities in each of their respective countries in order to enliven the spirit of Asia's most prestigious sports event ahead of the Sept 19 opening ceremony

Sunday's 3km Fun Run will be participated by student, athletes, sports associations - among others. The event will start with a warm up session at the Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar 'Ali Saifuddien field at 7.15 am followed by a Fun Run which will end at the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Shopping Complex.
