National cueist Ahmad Taufiq Murni was crowned champion of the Master Alim Grand Final for the second time after winning the third edition on Sunday.
Taufiq reclaimed his title after losing it to Shaiful Bahani in the 2nd Master Alim Grand Final last year, which was also held at the Master Alim Pool and Cafe in Kiulap.
It was a sweet ending for Taufiq in his final tournament before heading to December's Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Myanmar after beating Hj Md Alirani Hj Awg Besar 9-4 in the final.
Taufiq picked up a $250 cash prize, trophy and certificate, while Hj Md Alirani, also on the national team, walked away with a $130 cash prize, trophy and certificate.
Finishing joint third were Shaiful and Erman Fadli, who received $60 prize money, a trophy and certificate. Quarterfinalists Amir Hasan Hj Kamis, Amran Shah Hj Isa, Lim Charng Hui and Alias Rashid were also awarded with a cash prize of $30 each and a certificate.
