The Sports School's 4-2 win over Tutong District Football Association (TDFA) Tutong was not enough to put them through to the next round of the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) TelBru Youth Under-16 National Football League yesterday.

The Sports School needed to score eight goals to replace second-placed Belait A in the Group B game at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas, and though they started the game strongly early in the first-half, it was TDFA Tutong that first found the net through Mohd Amin Hazid Rosliani in the 16th minute.

The Sports School levelled in the 37th minute through Mohd Amin Hj Sisa before TDFA Tutong defender Muhd Hamdi Jaluddin scored an own goal three minutes later to give Sports School their first lead of the game.

The Sports School continued to dominate the game after the break, but it was TDFA Tutong who found the net again through Mohd Faedzul Fakri Saman.

With the win, the Sports School remain third behind second-placed Belait A on goal difference with nine points.

Belait A will join Al Idrus Junior, Brunei Darussalam School Sports' Council (MSSSBD) and Muara Vella in the last four of the competition.

"Our objective is to play good football and we did that throughout the tournament," said the Sports School's coach Pg Serfuddin Pg Hj Mohd Salleh in an interview with The Brunei Times yesterday.

"The boys played very well with their one and two-touch football... They are very hard working and disciplined and they will only get better in time.
