The last of Brunei Darussalam’s contingent, comprising the fencing team, departed the country yesterday to compete in the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The team includes Mohammad Haziq bin Asahrin, who will compete in the men’s individual sabre, and 1591 Lieutenant (U) Hajah Anis Sabrina binti Haji Yahya, representing Brunei in the women’s individual sabre. Both athletes are scheduled to compete on November 17 at Boulevard SEF Arena 01C.
Director of Youth and Sports Hajah Umi Kalthum binti Haji Abdul Karim saw off the team, alongside members of the Youth and Sports Department and the Brunei Fencing Association. – James Kon
