His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Honorary Executive Board Member and President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council (BDNOC) attended the grand opening ceremony of the 3rd Asian Youth Games (AYG) in Manama, Bahrain on Wednesday night.
The Games, taking place from October 22 to 31, held under the patronage of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, were marked by a festive atmosphere reflecting Bahrain’s position on the continent’s sports map.
The 3rd AYG has brought together more than 6,000 athletes from 45 countries.
Brunei Darussalam has sent an 11-member contingent comprising five athletes and six officials to compete in swimming and golf events. – James Kon
