Ten guests from the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) including OCA Honorary Executive Board Members and OCA Gender Equity Committee members are billed to attend the second OCA Gender Equity Seminar to be hosted by the Sultanate.
The seminar themed ‘Watch Her Shine’ aimed to empower and promote gender equity in sports across Asia, will be held at Indera Kayangan Ballroom, The Empire Brunei on April 14 and 15. Nineteen speakers, including from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), UN Women, Oceania IOC, and the International Working Group (IWG) will discuss advancing gender equity in sports.
The seminar is open to all 45 Asian National Olympic Councils (NOCs), specifically targeting Secretary Generals and Women in Sport members from each NOCs.
Eighty eight participants from 43 NOC have confirmed attendance. The workshop conducted through a comprehensive methodology designed to maximise learning, engagement, and practical outcomes, will include a series of expert-led presentations providing foundational knowledge and strategic insights into gender equity issues in sports.
Following the presentations, panel discussions featuring leaders and stakeholders in gender equity will allow participants to share diverse perspectives and experiences.
The event is organised in partnership with the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council (BDNOC), with logistical support provided by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS).
