Brunei weightlifter welcomed home after Asian Games

The Brunei Darussalam national contingent comprising members from the weightlifting team arrived home to a warm welcome following participation in the 19th Asian Games 2022 in Hangzhou, China.

Director of Youth and Sports Development at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Zainab binti Haji Morshidi greeted the delegation at the Brunei International Airport on Wednesday.

Also present was the Acting Director of Youth and Sports Haji Mohamad Rosfazilah bin Haji Yusly as well as senior officials from the MCYS.

Brunei weightlifter Jurulena binti Juna competed in the Women’s 64 kilogrammes event, placing 10th overall after collecting a haul of 181 points.

The national weightlifter scored 81 points in snatch and 100 points in clean and jerk at the Xiaoshan Sports Centre Gymnasium.

The weightlifting team also included coach Muhammad Hadi Dinie bin Abdul Rahman. – Fadhil Yunus
