Seven national wushu athletes are currently training and preparing to compete at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in Cambodia.
National wushu coach Li Hui said they will depart the Sultanate on May 6, with competition scheduled to begin on May 10. They will be competing in nine events.
The coach added that the athletes trained in Xian, China for 34 days. “They have shown development and confidence throughout their training especially new athletes Able Lim Wee Yuen and Lim Yee San,” he said.
Li Hui said that while he believes they can win medals, he advised the athletes not to be nervous and to perform at their best, adding that he hoped they will obtain good results.
The national wushu practitioners include five male and two female athletes – Mohammad Adi Salihin bin Roslan, Majdurano Joel bin Majallah Sain, Walid Lachkar, Hosea Wong Zheng Yu, Abel Lim Wee Yuen, Lim Yee Sean and Basma Lachkar.
