BRUNEI Wushu team did the country proud after capturing three gold medals, four silver and four bronze medals at the 7th World Kungfu Championship held in Emeishan, China from November 7 to 11.
National Wushu coach Li Hui who had not competed in any competition for 15 years, proved that he still has the skills to win medals when he bagged a gold in Soft Weapon and silver medal in Tong Bi Quan.
The other two gold medals came from Ckoh Yun C in Nan Quan and Nan Dao.
Li Ziyan took silver in Jian Shu and compatriot Lim Yee Sean bagged a silver in Chu Ji Jian while Ericsson Bong Cheng Loong took silver in Dao Shu.
The bronze medallists for Brunei were Liew Shuk Shiar in Taijiquan, Ang Lu Guan in Tong Bi Quan, Lim Wee Yuan in Changquan and Aaron Phung Jinyi in Gunshu.
More than 3,000 Wushu athletes from 57 countries competed in the competition.
