CHRISTIAN Nikles competed in the 100m Freestyle on July 26 at the Duna Arena in Budapest during the 17th FINA World Swimming Championships.
He registered a split time of 26.17s in the first 50m lap, placing himself in the third spot. On the second lap, he managed to catch up and clinched second position with a time of 55.05s, just outside his own national record of 54.64s set in 2015 during the FINA World Junior Swimming Championships.
On July 28, Christian competed in the 50m Freestyle, which nearly broke his national record of 24.33s set in April at the Irish Open Swimming Championships. His registered time at the world championships was 24.71s, scoring 605 FINA points.
Both Muhammad Isa (Muis) Ahmad and Christian Nazario Nikles are in Budapest, Hungary, participating in the 17th FINA Swimming World Championships (long course) from July 14–30. They are accompanied by Head Coach, Eric Landa.
