The 53-member Sports School contingent will return from the 17th Thailand Sports School Games with seven silver and two bronze medals.
Held at the Trang Sports School, the pencak silat team were the biggest winners for the Sultanate after all eight of their athletes finished on the podium - accounting for all the silver medals as well as one bronze.
Mohd Dinie Radai'e Roslan, Ahmad Muaawiz Hj Omar, Mohd Nasirruddin Abdullah Taha, Muhd Hisyam Hj Hamzah, Muhd Irfan Hj Hamzah, Muhd Aziman Masria and Nur Asyiqah Abd kahar all finished second best in their respective events.
The bronze medal was won by Abd Hadi Wafiy Hamzah. The other bronze medal came courtesy of runner Md Ammar Safwan Zaidin after he finished third in the 800-metre event.
He clocked a personal best time of 2min 5sec to beat his old time of 2min 12sec. Brunei also competed in football and sepak takraw at the June 15-24 compeition.
The contingent will return to Brunei tomorrow.
