Steve Kean believed that DPMM FC were unlucky to finish with a 0-0 draw against Geylang FC even though they dominated the second half in their Singapore League (S-League) game last night.

DPMM FC just could not find the back of the net despite goal scoring chances from Roy O'Donovan, Rodrigo Tosi and Roberto Alviz at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas. Brunei's only professional football team still lead the 12-team table with 32 points from 16 matches. "I felt that the draw wasn't a fair result for us as we dominated the second half and worked really hard moving the ball around to create our chances," Kean told The Brunei Times after the match.

"But in the first half it was fair as both teams created an equal number of chances. "How we dominated the second half was by having Rosmin Kamis and Rodrigo Tosi push up and pressure their central midfield players so we could pick up the loose balls and maintain our attacking pace. "I hope that after this draw we'll win our next match and go on another winning run. Just like what happened to us after we drew with Geylang FC at the end of March," he said.

"Little steps are required first if we want to have momentum and start winning again," added the Scotsman. Geylang coach Jorg Steinebrunner felt that his team performed much better and were more fortunate. "It's not easy to come to Brunei and play at DPMM FC's home. We can't just show up without a game plan," said the German.

"So our game plan was to keep attacking and work the ball through the midfield. Defensively we were also very solid and managed to shut down their attackers. "In the first half, we were the better team as we kept pushing them and kept them on their toes. But in the second half, they increased their pace so they got more chances than us... We were lucky a few of DPMM FC's goal scoring chances hit the post, otherwise the game could've gone either way," he said.
