Mohd Aiman Abdullah and Pg Aki Ismasufian Pg Hj Ibrahim secured their final berth in the Brunei Darussalam Tennis Association (BDTA) Open Men's Doubles 1st Leg 2014 after taking out Francis Xavier Golez and Juliano Licup 6-0, 6-2 yesterday.
They will play the duo of Billy Wong and Mohd Andi Hambali who kept their perfect record intact following a 6-1, 6-2 triumph over Abdul Rasheed Abdullah and Izannie Abu Bakar.
The other match of the night saw Jay Yong and Jermaine Francis win via walkover.
Wong and Mohd Andi will go into their final game today with the advantage, having beaten their opponents 6-3, 2-6, 10-6 on Friday.
They are scheduled to go head to head at the National Tennis Centre of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex at 4pm.
Wong and Mohd Andi's journey to the final saw them start their campaign with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Licup and Golez, followed by an easy 6-3, 6-1 victory against Siddesh Mahadehwar and Arun Isak Ravi Kumar.
Their domination continued with a 6-2, 6-0 victory against Yong and Francis before their first meeting with Pg Aki and Mohd Aiman.
Pg Aki and Mohd Aiman, meanwhile, kicked off their campaign with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Mahadehwar and Kumar before handing a double bagel 6-0, 6-0 drubbing to Yong and Francis.
They followed it up with a 6-0, 6-2 win against Rasheed and Izannie.
Licup and Golez finish in third place followed by Rasheed and Izannie in fourth, Yong and Francis in fifth and Mahadehwar and Kumar in sixth.
