Geoffrey Borg the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the World Chess Federation (FIDE) paid a visit to Brunei on Monday, as part of a brief working visit.
Borg had the opportunity to visit the Brunei Chess Federation Centre in Berakas and also Mabohai Primary School in the capital. The former national player from Malta left Brunei on Wednesday.
Borg has been active in the organisation of the FIDE Grand Prix series for Men and Women, FIDE World Blitz Championships and assisting the FIDE inspection teams for World Youth 2007, World Cup 2007 and the Dresden Olympiad 2008.
Borg also had the opportunity to meet officials from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports during his brief stay.
