Bowling enthusiasts are in for a treat.
The HM 67th Birthday Bowling Championship 2013 is scheduled to be held from September 12-29.
Organised by the Tenpin Bowling Congress of Brunei, the competition will be contested at the Megastrike Bowling Centre at the Airport Mall in Berakas.
The categories that will be contested are Mixed Open, Graded A Mixed Division (average 165 to 180) and Graded B Mixed Division (average 164 under) while the Team Division (9-pin no tap event) will only be by invitation.
A one-time registration fee is set at $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
Each player is required to complete three games during the qualifying stages whereby the top-16 bowlers will advance into the finals of their respective categories.
Qualifying rounds are $23 (member) and $25 (non-member) per attempt from Sept 12-22.
There will be an increase in price to $27 (member) and $30 (non-member) per attempt from Sept 23-28.
The top-16 for Grade A and B will have to pay $70 (member) and $80 (non-member) to complete another six games with handicap during the final.
The finals for both the categories will be held on Sept 27.
As for the Mixed Open category, the price is set at $110 (member) and $120 (non-member) for keglers to finish 10 games.
The combined pinfalls for the qualifying (three games) and final (10 games) will determine the top-four who will compete in a stepladder final on Sept 29.
The champion of the Mixed Open category will walk away with a cash prize of $1,200 and a medal while both the winners of Grade A and B will be rewarded $600 and a medal each.
Runners-up will get $800 (Mixed Open), $400 (Grade A) and $400 (Grade B) while third-place finishers will be awarded $600 (Mixed Open), $250 (Grade A) and $250 (Grade B).
Cash prizes will be given out till the eighth-place finisher for the Mixed Open while those competing in Grade A and B will be till sixth place.
