DPMM FC kept their hopes of progressing to the next round (quarter-finals) of the Singapore League Cup alive after defeating Warriors FC 2-1 in Group D play at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore last night.
Mislav Karoglan gave the Warriors the lead in the 15th minute before DPMM FC defender Shahrulrizal Abd Rahman cancelled out the opening goal five minutes later.
Striker Shahrazen Said got his name on the scoresheet and helped Brunei's only professional football club regain the lead in the 53rd minute.
The defending champions will need Balestier Khalsa to either win or draw against the Warriors at the Choa Chu Kang Stadium in the last of the three Group D games on Wednesday - with the top two teams from each group advancing to the next round.
Balestier Khalsa came from behind in the last 10 minutes to stun DPMM FC 2-1 in their opener at the Toa Payoh Stadium on Tuesday, where Shahrazen also got on the scoresheet.
Last night's other game saw Tampines Rovers FC defeat Tanjong Pagar FC 2-1 in Group B action at the Clementi Stadium in Singapore.
Warriors defeated DPMM FC 2-0 in exactly the same stage of the League Cup last season, though DPMM FC went through to the last-eight after edging Tanjong Pagar United FC 1-0 in their other match.
DPMM FC beat Warriors 2-0 in last year's semi-final and Geylang International by the same score in the final.
