The national Under-14 football team ended their campaign at the AFC (Asian Football Confederation) U-14 Championship 2013 after letting in a staggering 45 goals and failing to find the net in any of their five Group E games.
They were beaten 5-0 by the hosts in their final Group E game at the Wunna Theik Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday, the result a comparatively good one considering the whippings they have been accustomed to during their stay in Myanmar.
Brunei opened their campaign with a 4-0 defeat to the Philippines on Tuesday.
They were then hammered 11-0 by Vietnam in their second game the next day and suffered their largest loss after getting thrashed 15-0 by Timor Leste on Friday.
Malaysia humbled them 11-0 in their fourth game on Sunday.
Timor Leste emerged as group winners after beating the Philippines 8-1 in their last match.
They finished with the same number of points as Malaysia, who beat Vietnam 1-0 in their last match, but progressed to the tournament proper by virtue of a better goal difference.
Thailand and Timor Leste have joined the ranks of Iran, Korea Republic, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, DPR Korea and Iraq at the inaugural Under-14 Championship.
