National wushu team to compete in China

Brunei Darussalam wushu team has left the country to compete in the 2024 University Wushu Championship in Harbin, China from today until Saturday.

Led by national female wushu coach Zhao Chunjie, Brunei’s wushu athlete Hosea Wong will be competing in the Male Taolu event while Basma Lachkar will be in action for the Female Taolu event. Meanwhile, national wushu coach Li Hui has been invited to be one of the judges of the 2024 University Wushu Championship.

“This is the first of its kind competition and we have sent two of our wushu athletes to compete namely Hosea and Basma. I hope that our athletes will do well in this competition to bring glory for the country,” Li Hui said, adding his appreciation to the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports for their support. – James Kon
