Athletes competing in the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland were told to uphold the highest standards of discipline, focus and determination as they strive to bring pride and honour to Brunei Darussalam.
This was said by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha during his visit to the training venues and accommodation of the athletes. The minister toured the weightlifting and athletics training venues, as well as the accommodation of the swimming team, to observe first-hand the well-being of the national athletes. Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary commended the athletes for their commitment and dedication throughout their preparations and expressed confidence in their readiness for the competition.
Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman accompanied the minister during the visit. – James Kon
