Brunei’s sole female athlete, Qurratul Ain binti Irwan, successfully competed in the women’s long jump event at the 6th Asian Beach Games 2026 on Friday, finishing in 13th place.
Taking place in Sanya, China, Qurratul Ain competed against 12 athletes from eight other countries and managed to clear a distance of 4.40 metres (m). Abdul Aqil bin Abdul Kadir also finished his event at 13th place in the men’s long jump event after successfully leaping a distance of 5.25m.
Meanwhile, the Group ‘C’ men’s doubles Teqball matches involving Ismail Ang and Mohammad Hanis Hidayatullah bin Abdullah, originally scheduled for Friday, were postponed to today due to adverse weather conditions. – James Kon
