The Brunei Darussalam contingent, comprising 31 members, returned home after competing in the 33rd SEA Games 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand.
The arrival of the sepak takraw and netball teams, Secretariat officers, and medical personnel at Brunei International Airport was welcomed by Permanent Secretary (Culture) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan, together with senior ministry officials.
Sashes were presented to the returning athletes and officials as a mark of recognition.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and a Doa Selamat led by Awang Kamarul Arifin bin Mohamad Harif, followed by congratulatory remarks from the permanent secretary and concluded with a group photo session.
The national sepak takraw team secured a bronze medal in the Men’s Hoop event. The team comprised 52692 LSM Muhammad Abdul Marteen bin Haji Asdi; ABKD 1075 Abdul Hadi Ariffin bin Haji Matali; ABKD 1288 Mohd Hafizuddin bin Jamaludin; PC 6244 Md Azri bin Abd Harith; L/Cpl 6109 Abdul Muiz bin Haji Nordin, and SLD 54172 Ak Mohammad Hisyam bin Pengiran Hassan. – Lyna Mohamad
