The Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council (BDNOC) announced that the King’s Baton Relay Run (KBR) will take place in Brunei Darussalam on November 9, as part of the lead-up to the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. The event is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS).

The King’s Baton Relay in Brunei Darussalam will be an inspiring celebration of sport, culture, and environmental stewardship. It reflects the nation’s commitment to the values of the Commonwealth and its ongoing efforts to engage youth, promote healthy lifestyles, and protect the environment.

Local artist Abdul Ajihis bin Haji Terawih from the Language and Literature Bureau will showcase the nation’s artistic heritage and Brunei’s culture as part of the international Baton journey.

The main event of the Brunei Darussalam leg will be the King’s Baton Relay Run, which will take place along Bandar Seri Begawan. The KBR participants, including invited sports associations, will have the opportunity to hold the King’s Baton during the run.

Registration opened to the public yesterday. Interested participants may register by completing the online form accessible through the QR code https://forms.gle/18jsdECKSou5atpRA.

Participation is free, and spaces are limited. The public is encouraged to register early to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

All registered participants will receive a certificate of participation and an exclusive King’s Baton Relay t-shirt. Following the run, the King’s Baton will be brought to Meragang Beach on November 10 to commemorate the plastic clean-up day.
