Brunei Darussalam’s national taekwondo team made a strong showing at the Panglima TNI Cup in Jakarta, Indonesia bringing home seven medals – four golds and three bronzes – from the international competition.
The team of 11 athletes and two coaches competed from September 26-28, with seven athletes in poomsae (forms) and four in kyorugi (sparring).
The medal haul marks a significant achievement for Brunei, reflecting the athletes’ dedication and months of intense training, and is expected to inspire the next generation of martial artists in the country.
Selected by the Brunei Darussalam Taekwondo Association (BTDA), the team’s performance underscores Brunei’s growing presence in regional taekwondo competitions.
The Panglima TNI Cup, hosted by the Indonesian National Armed Forces, remains a key event for emerging taekwondo talent across Southeast Asia.
