Brunei Darussalam’s wushu team collected a gold medal in the three-person women’s Duilian event at the first ASEAN-China Women’s Wushu Championship in Malaysia.

Lim Wanxin, Bella Lee Tseen Qin, and Belle Lee Tseen were exceptional in their Duilian event with precise movements, perfect teamwork, and a stable on-the-spot performance to ultimately win the gold medal. Team Cambodia took the silver medal and Team Laos won the bronze.

Led by coach Zhao Chunjie and assistant coach Faustina Woo Wai Sii, Lim Yee Sean also participated in the Tai Chi and Taijijian events. On hand to witness the gold medal performance was Wushu Federation of Brunei Darussalam President Lim Boon Hua.

“The gold medal is not only the best reward for the athletes’ and coaches’ hard work but also demonstrates that Brunei’s new generation of young athletes have made significant progress,” said coach Zhao Chunjie after the competition.

She added, “We are extremely proud of the athletes’ performance. This gold medal proves that our training methods are effective and showcases the tenacity and potential of Brunei’s female athletes. We are grateful to the Brunei Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports of Brunei, and the Brunei Wushu Association for their unwavering support, and also thank all those who have contributed to this journey.” – James Kon
