Following fierce competition among the world’s leading martial artists, the wushu events of the World Games concluded on Monday with Brunei securing a single silver medal.

The standout performance came from Adi Salihin, who clinched silver in both the men’s Nan Quan and Nangun disciplines. Meanwhile, Basma Lachkar narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth in the women’s Taijiquan and Taijijian events.

In the men’s Taijiquan and Taijijian, Hosea Wong Zheng Yu placed fifth, while Walid Lachkar ranked eighth in the men’s Changquan, Daoshu and Gunshu.

National wushu coach Li Hui expressed pride in the team’s efforts: “We are proud of their achievements. After returning home, they will review their performances and prepare for the next World Championships in Brazil.

“We would like to express our gratitude to the Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, the Brunei Wushu Federation and SUCI for their strong support.”
