Brunei wushu team competes in World Games

Four Brunei Darussalam’s wushu athletes left the country yesterday to compete in the World Games in Chengdu, China.

The Brunei team comprises Lihin participating in the southern fist and southern staff events; Hosea Wong Zheng Yu competing in tai chi quan and tai chi sword; Walid participating in long fist, sword art, and staff art; and Basma Lachkar competing in tai chi quan and tai chi sword.

The World Games is one of the five major world sports events, held every four years. Only athletes ranked in the top six at the 16th World Wushu Championships in 2023 are eligible to compete. – JAMES KON
