Brunei Darussalam’s wushu team wrapped up its campaign in the 11th Asian Junior Wushu Championship in Macau yesterday with one gold and four bronze medals.
On the last day of competition, Brunei wushu pair of Walid Lachkar and Abel Lim wee Yuen managed to bring glory to the Sultanate by winning a gold medal with 8.826 points in the duilian event.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong wushu athletes finished second followed by Malaysia in third.
National wushu coach Li Hui said, “We are very happy and proud that our duilian athletes did really well. They carried out perfect performance in the event.”
With one gold and four bronze medals, he said, “Our win and medals have shown that Brunei young wushu athletes have improved tremendously. Coach Zhao Chunjie and I will continuously work hard to ensure a podium finish for our athletes in future competitions.” – James Kon
