The fourth batch of the Brunei Darussalam national contingent comprising five karate athletes left for Hanoi, Vietnam yesterday to take part in the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.
Two male exponents Muhd Sufizan bin Mohd Sofian and Awangku Muhd Abdul Quddus bin Pengiran Haji Zainal and three female practitioners Farhah Syahirah binti Mohamad Shamrin, Farhana Najeeha binti Abdul Rahman and Rodhyatul Adhwanna binti Bakar were accompanied by kumite head coach Okhida Simangasing and kata head coach Anggoro Bayu Pratama as well as a secretariat member.

Permanent Secretary at Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (Administration, Finance and Estate) Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, as well as senior officers from the Department of Youth and Sports were also present.
The national contingent are represented in four sports namely e-sports, karatedo, pencak silat and wushu.
National karate exponent Muhd Sufizan won a bronze medal in the kumite individual male -67 kilogrammes event at the 30th SEA Games in Manila, the Philippines in 2019.
The karate events are scheduled to be held on May 18 and 19 at the Ninh Binh Province Sports Gymnasium.
