Brunei’s national swimmers Ashley Chai Xin Rou and Nur Haziq bin Samil
BRUNEI’s national swimmers Ashley Chai Xin Rou and Nur Haziq bin Samil set new personal best records at the 3rd Summer Youth Olympic Games 2018 in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Thursday.
Ashley Chai Xin Rou finished 39th place out of 54 swimmers in the Women’s 50m Freestyle with a time of 29.52s, breaking her previous record of 29.63s.
She did not qualify for the next round despite breaking her own personal record.
In the Men’s 100m Freestyle, Nur Haziq completed with a time of 58.38s, smashing his previous record of 58.78s. He was placed 42nd out of 46 swimmers. He also failed to qualify for the next round.
On Wednesday, he broke his personal best record in the Men’s 400m freestyle by finishing with a time of 4:33.47s, an improvement from his previous record of 4:33.89s.
