His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at Prime Minister's Office and DPMM FC chairman, was yesterday presented the Singapore League Cup trophy by DPMM FC head coach Steve Kean and captain Rosmin Hj Mohd Kamis.
Also present at the Jerudong Mini Stadium was DPMM FC vice-chairman YAM Pg Maharaja Setia Laila Diraja Sahibul Irshad Pg Anak Haji Abdul Rahim Pg Indera Mahkota Pg Anak (Dr) Kemaludin Al-Haj.
The club won the Singapore League Cup for the third time after beating Tanjong Pagar United FC 2-0 in last Friday's championship decider at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore, making them the most successful team in the competition.
DPMM FC won the Singapore League Cup in 2009 and repeated the feat in 2012. Kean, who is in his first season at the club, revealed that HRH was delighted with the triumph. "The Crown Prince was very happy," said Kean. "We sat down at the beginning of the season and he asked how far we can go.
"I said that I think we can compete for all three (Singapore League, Singapore Cup and Singapore League Cup) and now we've got one of them," added Kean.
Singapore League leaders DPMM FC are also in the semi-finals of the Singapore Cup.
