The 2nd Brunei Interclub swimming competition kicked off yesterday at the National Stadium Swimming Pool in Berakas.
Close to 100 swimmers from six Brunei clubs are expected to take to the pool in the three-day competition.
Among those competing is His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Muntaqim.
Flying the flag for ISB Hammerheads, HRH is registered to compete in all five events available for the 7-year-old age group - 50m breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and freestlye as well as the 100m freestyle race.
The prince came in 2nd in his 50m butterfly, 3rd in his 50m breaststroke and 1st in the 100 freestyle yesterday.
He still has 2 more races to swim over the next two days. Swimmers compete not for medals but for points for their clubs.
Age groups for the competition are 7yrs, 8yrs, 9yrs, 10yrs, 11yrs, 12-13 yrs, 14-15yrs, 16-18yrs and 19yrs and over.
A winners' trophy and club prize pack will be presented to the club with the most points. Prize packs will also be presented to the 1st and 2nd runner up clubs.
The male and female swimmers within each age who have won the most points for their club will be presented with 'The Most Valuable Swimmer' medals.
