Lions hold on to lead after seventh round

The Lions ended the seventh round of the inaugural Brunei National Lawn Bowls Premier League 2014 with 16 and a-half points on Friday.

Lions took the full three points after outclassing the Eagles 34-6 in the triples event, 31-4 in the doubles and 25-16 in the singles at the Lawn Bowls Arena of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas. Panthers will be heading into the eighth in second place with 14 points after recording a 15-13 against the Jets in the singles and 25-8 in the doubles while falling 25-19 in the triples.

Tigers and Sabres are in third and fourth respectively to keep them in the run for the top four playoffs.

The Tigers went three for three against the Thunders after securing a 19-15 win in the triples, 21-15 in the doubles and 25-17 in the singles. Sabres first fell 23-8 to the Warriors before rolling a 25-11 score line in the doubles and 25-16 in the singles to take two points.

The ten team table that are playing over nine rounds bottom six are the Thunders in fifth with 11 and a-half points, Jets in sixth with 11 points, Stingrays in seventh with 11 points, Scorpions in eighth with nine and a-half points, Warriors in ninth with six points and Eagles struggling at the bottom with two and a-half points. The other match saw Stingrays defeat the Scorpions 22-10 in the triples and 26-22 in the singles before losing 14-13 in the doubles. Round eight of the tournament will roll into action today.
