The Lions outclassed Eagles 34-6 in the triples category to take a point in the first event of the seventh round of the inaugural Brunei National Lawn Bowls Premier League 2014 on Wednesday.
The Lions, who currently sit at the top of the table with 14 and a half points, will be looking to add another two during the singles and doubles category against the Eagles - who sit at the bottom of the 10-team table - today.
Panthers have moved into second place with 12 points after sealing a 15-13 win over fifth place Jets at the Lawn Bowls Arena of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.
Thunders were bumped down to third after they were unable to boost their 11 and a half points when they were edged 19-15 by the Tigers. The game proved to be a crucial one for the Tigers as it boosted them into the top four sitting on 10 points.
A tough fight for the final four positions is to come in the remaining three rounds as the Tigers, Jets, sixth placed Stingrays and seventh placed Sabres all sit on 10 points. The top four after the nine rounds will then move on to the playoffs.
The remaining triples saw the Scorpions, who are currently in eighth place, fall 22-10 to the Stingrays. The Warriors, meanwhile, stand in ninth after outrolling Sabres 22-8.
