Will DPMM FC extend their lead at the summit of the Singapore League (S-League) table tonight or will Warriors FC make up some ground?
DPMM FC have a tough test tonight as they face second-placed Warriors at the Choa Chu Kang Stadium in Singapore, with the gap between the two teams currently seven points. The table-toppers may be on a roll with seven consecutive victories, but head coach Steve Kean (pic) told The Brunei Times that his men will have to be at their best to be able to upend the Warriors.
"They are a very good team and they have been picking up good results," said Kean after Tuesday's training session at the Jerudong Mini Stadium.
Brunei's only professional team beat the Warriors 2-0 in their first meeting of the season at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas in February, and it wasn't an easy outing for the hosts as they only took the lead through Rodrigo Tosi four minutes after the interval before captain Rosmin Hj Md Kamis killed the match off with a last minute goal.
"It is going to be a tough game and we will have to be at our very best to get anything," admitted Kean of tonight's tie. "We will give the Warriors respect because that is what they deserve.
"They have been scoring goals late in games and we have to make sure we go for 90 to 96 minutes," continued the Scotsman. The only injury concern for Kean is defender Abdul Aziz Tamit, who is out with a sprained left ankle.
However, the squad will welcome back Bosnian defender Boris Raspudic after serving a one-game suspension. Raspudic has been a key part of DPMM FC's defence - the team letting in a league-low six goals in 12 games this season.
More impressive, though, has been DPMM FC's form up front - where they have a league-high 33 goals, 23 of them from imports Rodrigo Tosi and Roy O' Donovan.
