There was plenty of finals action at the National Badminton Championship Brunei Darussalam yesterday.
The men's doubles final comprised of four former national shuttlers with Ermadena Hj Talip and Sia Kok An going on to win the title.
The pairing managed to beat the pairing of Zailani Yun and Amran Kambar 21-16, 21-17 in the final.
Ermadena and Sia established their dominance early in the first set at the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.
They built a 12-5 lead before Zailani and Amran fought back to cut the deficit to 18-15 before conceding the set.
It was the complete opposite as the second set got underway.
Zailani and Amran found themselves leading 10-5 before the eventual victors responded to tie the game up at 15-15. They would go on to win the crown.
Rahman Hj Md Tahir (pic) was the champion in the men's singles, edging Sheril Shahizwan Tikom 21-18, 21-17.
"Sheril was a bit of a problem and I was just looking for luck," Rahman told The Brunei Times.
"I thought that I had lost the second set when he was leading (11-4) but I just kept on playing," he said.
Ryeno Anak Lambai and Anyar Anak Aladdin smashed their way to first place in the boys' doubles.
They managed to beat the pair of Mohd Arif Hj Mohd Seruddin and Ali Fadillah Hj Mohd Baharuddin with a 21-12, 21-17 scoreline.
