Nine athletes, two coaches, one assistant coach and three associations received a total of $37,700 from tournaments contested in 2011 and last year, where 15-year-old wushu exponent Mohd Sufi Shayiran Roslan was his sport's biggest winner with $5,000.

The biggest individual winner, though, was para-athlete Kamarul Ariffin Hj Abdul Ghaffar - who took home a cool $7,500 for finishing at the top of the podium in the B2 Visually Impaired Bowling event of the Asian Youth Para Games in Kuala Lumpur at the end of October last year.

He won the gold, while blindfolded, after recording 929 pinfalls at the competition.

Mohd Sufi and younger brother Mohd Adi Sya'rani won silver in the duilian event (duo sparring with broadsword and spear) at the 3rd Islamic Solidarity Games in Palembang, Indonesia, at the end of September.

Both were rewarded $3,000 each for their efforts.

Sufi received another $2,000 for his bronze medal in the nangun (southern staff) event at August's 7th Asian Junior Wushu Championship in Manila.

The pair of Lee Yingshi and Karyn Ho Chia Yin each received $2,000 for winning gold in the duilian event at the 6th Asian Junior Wushu Championship back in Shanghai back in 2011.

Both national wushu coach Li Hui and the Wushu Federation of Brunei Darussalam (WFBD) were awarded $2,800 each while assistant coach Ang Lu Guan received $700.
