Prince Sufri Bolkiah, president of Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Committee (BDNOC) and president of the Football Association (BDFA) visited Aspire Academy yesterday with Brunei National Olympic Committee vice president, Haji Mohammad Zamri and the Brunei Darussalam Ambassador in Doha, Haji Nordin Haji Ahmad and their accompanying delegation.
Prince Sufri was welcomed by Ivan Bravo, director general of the Academy in the VIP Hall, before heading for a short discussion on possible ways to collaborate.
The guests were also given a tour of the different Aspire Academy facilities while explaining the mission and vision of the Academy. Bravo explained its commitment was to form champions in sports and life based on the dual concept of education and sport under the same roof.
Prince Sufri said he was amazed by what he saw in Aspire Academy and praised the high level of professionalism. Prince Sufri also said he was impressed by the academy's great mission in developing talented athletes for Qatar.
He advised Aspire students to get the maximum benefits from the golden opportunity afforded to them and the privilege they enjoy by being part of such a great academy. The BDNOC president said he hoped collaboration with Aspire Academy would be possible following his visit.
