Let the 2nd Asian Youth Games in China begin!
The opening ceremony was held last night at the 18,000 seat Nanjing Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium.
A 40-minute cultural show headlined the curtain raiser before six torch bearers relayed the torch to the lighting of the cauldron.
Brunei is represented by five athletes, two coaches, one official and the chef de mission.
The Sultanate will only be competing in two sports fencing and golf at the August 16-24 multi-sport event.
More than 3,600 athletes from 45 countries and regions of the Olympic Council of Asia will be contesting in the Games.
