The Brunei National Olympic Council (BNOC) in collaboration with the Department of Youth and Sports will celebrate Olympic Day 2012 this Sunday at the Tutong Sports Complex.
His Royal Highness Prince Hj Sufri Bolkiah, the president of BNOC, is expected to attend the event.
The event slated to begin at 7am preceded by an aerobics session.
It will be celebrated differently from previous years whereby it will be filled with sports activities which can be participated by all age groups.
Outdoor activities include athletics, netball, handball, futsal and para sports while karatedo, taekwando, wushu and table tennis are the sports listed under indoor activities.
The sporting events are open for everyone and registration starts at 5.45am.
Other activities include water sports, exhibition and colouring contest.
The latter will be divided into two categories: Category A (six to eight years old) and Category B (nine to 12 years old). Participants are also expected to bring their own colouring equipment.
Free t-shirts will be given to all participants and will be distributed on a first come first serve basis.
Olympic Day is celebrated to mark the revival of modern Olympics on June 23, 1984 in Athens.
