Football fans in the Sultanate had a great time watching football legends in action at the EPL Masters Football Brunei Cup 2012 last night.
Thousands thronged the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas to watch the Liverpool Masters, Manchester United Masters, EPL All Stars Masters and Brunei's very own DPMM FC Masters battled it out in a six-a-side futsal tournament.
The Indoor Stadium came alive last night as fans cheered their favourite players and teams. Hazrin Majid, 35, was one of those fans.
"This is my second time, I was here last year, too. I think the organisers have done a fantastic job, the futsal turf looks good and the fans are great," Hazrin a Liverpool fan told The Brunei Times.
"I am a Liverpool fan and I am here to watch Robbie Fowler and Vladimir Smicer. They are Reds legends."
Meanwhile, 22-year-old Hj Naimullah Hj Sabri a Manchester United fan was a bit unhappy with the performance of the local side DPMM FC Masters in this year's edition of the tournament.
"It feels great to be here tonight, I am a United fan. It's good to see Andrew Cole, Quinton Fortune and the rest of the players tonight, but I think DPMM FC Masters did better last year," he said.
One of the members of the organising committee Fathi Foad Hj Abu Bakar was happy to see good response from the fans.
"The atmosphere is great, a lot of people turn up today, most of them are Liverpool and Manchester United fans. There are fewer fans compared to last year, but it is still a very good event," said Fathi Foad.
The All Stars Masters retained their title after defeating the Liverpool Masters 7-4 in the final.
