Tuesday, September 4 2018

BRUNEI Darussalam netball team bounced back from their opening-day defeat to Singapore in style after thumping Pakistan 62-16 in the Asian Netball Championships at the OCBC Arena of the Singapore Sports Hub in Singapore yesterday.

The win put them in the Plate grouping (Group ‘F’) alongside Japan, India and Thailand after finishing in second place in Group ‘C’.

Brunei coach Jane Searle said, “It was pleasing as we got all our players out there for some decent court time. With every game we look to improve and get our connections right and today it was a good opportunity to do that for us.”

“It will be a tough game against Thailand tomorrow (today) but we’ll definitely be out to win it. We’ll put our best foot forward tomorrow,” she said.

The second round of the competition commences today with Brunei taking on Thailand before meeting Japan on Wednesday and India on Thursday.
