BRUNEI Darussalam’s trio of Surtini binti Haji Abidin, Norhani binti Haji Juna and Khairul Bariah binti Khairul Anuar took sixth place in the 1st Asian Boules Sport Confederation Petanque Championship 2017 in Bangkok.

They qualified in the Top 8 after defeating Pakistan 13-5 and Taiwan 9-6. The team was knocked out after they lost 5-13 against host team and clinched sixth place.

Secretary General of Brunei Darussalam Petanque Federation (BPF) said that they were proud of the team’s achievement. “Even though they lost, they lost to an international-level team. They obtained sixth place in an international tournament playing against Asia-Pacific teams under the international federation (FIPJP).”
