The National Football Association Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) yesterday announced that matches for the both the 2014 DST Super League and 2014 DST Premier League this weekend have been postponed.

This is due to the bad weather resulting in unsatisfactory pitch conditions at competition venues.

All eight teams in the DST Premier League were set to see action as the new season begins this weekend.

The only show that will go on is between Brunei Shell Recreation Club Football Team (BSRC FT) and Tunas FC.

They will contest at the Tutong Sports Complex and kick off is scheduled for 4pm.

The first matches of the new season, Setia Perdana were set to take Perkasa at the Berakas Sports Complex while Kota Rangers and Rimba Star were set to see action at the Balapan Track and Field.

Both games were initially scheduled for today at 8.15pm.

Lun Bawang and IKLS were set to clash at the Temburong Sports Complex on Sunday at 3pm.

As for the DST Super League, Majra United were scheduled to take on Kilanas FC at the Balapan Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas while Royal Brunei Police Force Sports Council (MS PDB) were set to take on Wijaya FC at the Berakas Sports Complex.

Both matches were supposed to kick off at 8.15pm on Saturday.

The other postponed game is a matchup between Liang Lumut Recreational Club (LLRC) FT and Najip FC at the Arena Field in Seria on Sunday at 4pm.

The DST Super League started on Monday with QAF FC and Jerudong FC sharing the spoils with a 2-2 draw at the Balapan Track and Field.

Mohd Jurelmi Hj Zaini scored the opening goal of the new season to give Jerudong the lead in the 26th minute.

Sam Frank notched things up after heading home the equaliser for QAF in the 42nd minute.

Jerudong got back in front through Md Endy Soehardy Awg Sapar in the 55th minute before Frank tied things up again with a spectacular shot from outside the box in the 73rd minute.

The Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) won the first silverware of the season on Sunday after edging Indera SC 2-1 in the Sumbangsih Cup at the Balapan Track and Field.

A goal each by Mohd Mazazizi Mazlan and Mohd Khairuddin Abdul Kadir in the opening 25 minutes was enough for the armymen to lift the trophy.

Indera SC scored a consolation through Mohd Shahrin Momin from the penalty spot in the 84th minute.
