NFABD thanks AFC, looks to closer collaboration

His Royal Highness Prince Sufri Bolkiah, President of the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD), wishes to express his appreciation and thanks to His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) who is also the FIFA EXCO, Dato' Alex Soosay, General Secretary of the AFC, as well as other members of the delegation, for their visit to Brunei Darussalam, in particular to the NFABD House on 15th November 2013.

During the meeting, His Royal Highness President of the NFABD and His Highness President of the AFC have discussed a range of issues related to the assistance and support needed by the NFABD and how the AFC could help.

Both His Highness President and the General Secretary of the AFC have committed to assist the NFABD financially and technically through the AFC Financial Assistant Program (AFAP), as well as from other programs, such as Kick Off Program to help the NFABD on how to manage the National League.

Apart from that, the AFC also encouraged the NFABD to utilise the expertise that the AFC has, both in the administration and technical aspects, in order to build the capacity of the NFABD as the football governing body in the country.

His Highness President of the AFC was very pleased with the efforts made and the achievements by the NFABD to date, and the Technical Strategic Plan (Grassroots & Youth Football Development and Coaches Development Program) that the NFABD wishes to implement for the next few years starting from 2014.

His Highness President of the AFC believed that the NFABD could work with the AFC in order to implement this plan effectively and successfully.

In fact, His Highness President of AFC is of the view that the NFABD needs a more comprehensive 'Road Map' which the AFC is more than happy to help.

On FIFA Goal Project 2, His Highness President of the AFC took note of the progress and urged the NFABD to plan ahead on the FIFA Goal Project 3 of which the AFC would support and help to secure the approval from FIFA.

His Highness President of the AFC, while thanking the NFABD's hospitality and excellent arrangement made for his visit, His Highness also hope that the NFABD continue and will never fail to participate in every regional and international football championships that are relevant to the NFABD, especially the one organised and sanctioned by the AFC, as well as remained fully committed to develop further and bring football in this country to the next level.

His Royal Highness President of the NFABD while appreciating the advice given, has also assured His Highness President of the AFC that the NFABD will do its utmost and is fully committed not only to building the capacity of the NFABD as an association but also to plan and implement a more comprehensive football development program.

His Royal Highness President of the NFABD is looking forward to a close collaboration with the AFC and remained optimistic that with the assistance and guidance of FIFA, AFC, AFF (Asean Football Federation) and other football stakeholders, the NFABD will achieve its objectives.
