BMC fuels Olympic Day 2013

The Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council (BDNOC) received a boost yesterday with sponsorships from the Brunei Methanol Company (BMC).

The latter provided 2000 official attires for the upcoming Olympic Day 2013 to be held at the Temburong Sports Complex next Sunday.

The handover ceremony was held yesterday with His Royal Highness Prince Hj Sufri Bolkiah, the President of the BDNOC, on hand to receive from Akira Ishiwada, the Chief Executive Officer of BMC, at the VVIP Room of the Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium in Berakas.

HRH in return presented a momento of appreciation to Ishiwada.

"Today's (Tuesday's) event will mark as a good cooperation between Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council and Brunei Methanol Company in order to ensure the smooth running of the event and this deliver a good quality of an event," said BDNOC vice-president Hj Muhd Zamri Dato Paduka Hj Hamdani.

Also in attendance was Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Datin Paduka Hajah Adina Othman and Japanese Ambassador to Brunei Kenichi Suganuma.

The Olympic Day 2013 is scheduled to begin with registration at 6.45am preceded by an aerobics session.

Sports activities such as 5-a-side football, kids athletics, hockey, bocce, tug-of-war, sepak takraw, futsal, netball basketball and traditional games will be contested.
