His Royal Highness Prince Hj Sufri Bolkiah, the President of the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD), laced up for a good cause yesterday.

The prince is competing for the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council (BNOC) team in Group A of the VIP category of the Charity Futsal Tournament for Kg Setia 'A' Fire Victims Fund.

Contested at the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas, BNOC lost their opening match 1-0 to the Young Lions after a second half goal by YAM Pg Muda 'Abdul 'Aleem.

A hat-trick by Anuar Lisa sealed a 3-0 win over NFABD in their second match giving them a chance to advance into the semi-finals of the April 19-21 event.

They will have to defeat the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (KKBS) today at 9pm.

A total of eight teams separated into two groups are competing in the VIP category.

On the other hand, 12 teams separated into four groups are vying for top honours in the Open category.

The first match today kicks off at 8pm.
