The National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) held its first executive committee (Exco) meeting yesterday at the NFABD House in Berakas.

This is after Brunei's governing body for football held the 5th Extraordinary Congress to reelect its Exco for the 2013-2015 term on March 9.

Present to chair the meeting yesterday was His Royal Highness Prince Hj Sufri Bolkiah, the NFABD President.

HRH touched on the visions and missions of NFABD in the short, mid and long terms in his sabda.

The short term is for the strengthening of the administration as well as working alongside the stakeholders (Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and Ministry of Education).

The mid term is regarding the building of football infratructure while the long term is to create quality football players in the Sultanate.

The Prince is looking at the mid-term goal as the measuring stick on how far the NFABD will go in the next two years.

"It is NFABD's desire to have its own football structure through the FIFA Goal Project. I hope that this project will be discussed and finalised as soon as possible," said the former honorary president of NFABD.

"I consider this project as a key performance indicator for us in the next two years," he said.

"NFABD requires programmes which are effective and of high standards for the progression of football throughout the country," continued HRH, who is also the President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council.

Part of the agenda for the meeting yesterday was to elect members for the Standing Committee.

NFABD Deputy President Pehin Datu Indera Sugara Brigadier General (R) Dato Paduka Hj Mohammad Yusof Abu Bakar is in charge of the Legal Committee and Strategic Studies Committee.

Hj Abd Razak Hj Ibrahim will take care of the Finance Committee while Hj Meramit Hj Damit, the Internal Audit Committee.

Organising Committee for NFABD Competitions and Youth Fooball Committee will be handled by Hj Mohd Noor Hj Abd Hamid.

Jamhari Lani is in charge of the Technical and Development Committee while Abd Halim Hj Metussin will overlook both the Referee's Committee as well as Ethics and Fair Play Committee.

Takong Ahmad was elected for the Futsal Committee while Ah Chua Bangau for the Sports Medicine Committee.

Both the Players' Status Committee and Football Committee are under Muhammad Radzuan Hj Madali while Bujang Hj Japar will man the Media Committee.

Morni Hj Zakaria has been chosen for the Marketing and Television Advisory Board.

The post for the Women's Football Committee has yet to be confirmed.
